Fredericton, NB Current Conditions - Special Weather Statement , Fredericton

Alerts for: Fredericton and Southern York County

10:12 PM ADT Friday 19 April 2019
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Fredericton and Southern York County

An extended period of rain is expected during the Easter weekend.

Periods of rain at times heavy will develop tonight and persist through to Saturday evening as a series of low pressure systems continue to affect New Brunswick. On Saturday evening, rain is expected to taper to showers, which will then persist into Sunday night.

Rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 mm are forecast for tonight through Saturday evening. Rainfall warnings have been issued for all of northern New Brunswick. It is possible that rainfall warnings will be extended to the Fredericton and Southern York County and Oromocto and Sunbury regions, should the area of heavier rain shift toward the south.

This rainfall combined with snowmelt north of the region will enhance the threat of flooding.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NBstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NBStorm.
