Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Rodney - Shedden - Western Elgin County
  • St. Thomas - Aylmer - Eastern Elgin County

An area of rain is moving into southwestern Ontario this evening and will reach the Greater Toronto area by daybreak. This area of rain will taper off in the southwest late overnight and by mid morning in the Greater Toronto Area.

Another area of rain is expected to move into the area Saturday afternoon and persist into the evening. The rain may fall heavily at times.

Some areas may see 20 to 40 millimetres of rain by Saturday evening, but latest analysis is suggesting that the highest amounts will be near Lake Erie.

The rainfall is associated with a developing low pressure system that will cross the lower Great Lakes Saturday.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
